Seon-Kyu Lee, MD, PhD, is Director of Pediatric Neurointervention and Program Director of Endovascular Neurosurgery/Interventional Neuroradiology Fellowship at Montefiore. He is also Professor of Radiology and Neurosurgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Lee’s clinical focus is on the diagnosis and treatment of various brain, spine and head and neck vascular malformation conditions. This includes venous and pediatric vascular malformation, head and neck vascular malformation, brain aneurysm, brain arteriovenous malformation, percutaneous sclerotherapy for lymphangioma, carotid stenosis, intracranial atherosclerosis and percutaneous spine interventions, such as vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, epidural and facet injections and spinal stimulation.
Dr. Lee started his medical education at Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, and was awarded a Doctor of Medicine in 1989, a Master of Medical Science in Radiology in 1994 and a PhD of Medical Science in Radiology in 2000. His clinical training includes a one-year rotating internship and a four-year Diagnostic Radiology residency at Seoul National University Hospital, Seoul, Korea. Subsequently, he completed a two-year Interventional Neuroradiology clinical fellowship at University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada in 2002.

Dr. Lee’s research follows from his clinical focus, with investigations spanning brain imaging, carotid artery angioplasty, neurointerventional procedures and more. He is a frequently sought after speaker in regional, national and international meetings and conferences. Dr. Lee is also on the editorial board at Neurointervention and has been a manuscript reviewer for several medical journals, including the Journal of Neurointerventional Surgery, Interventional Neuroradiology and the Journal of Vascular Interventional Radiology.

Dr. Lee is board certified by American Board of Radiology and Korean Board of Radiology. He also received the Certification of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Neuroradiology by the American Board of Radiology as well as the Certification of the Committee on Advanced Subspecialty Training (CAST) in Neurovascular Surgery by the Society of Neurological Surgeons. He has been listed among Top Doctors America by Castle Connolly for last seven years. He is currently an Executive Board member of the World Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology and a member of several professional organizations including the American Society of Neuroradiology, Society of Neurointerventional Surgery, American College of Radiology and American Society of Spine Radiology.
